This summer we celebrated a true legend in the 52-year history of the Urban League of Palm Beach County. For the past 37 of those years, Mr. Eugene Kelly was the first to arrive each day — unlocking doors, setting up spaces, and ensuring everything was just right before anyone else walked through. Now, at 92 years young, Mr. Kelly has decided it’s finally time to let us open the building without him.
In honor of his unwavering dedication, the Urban League family came together to show their deep appreciation. In a touching moment, Mr. Kelly was presented with a $7,000 gift — a symbol of gratitude for his decades of selfless service. Mr. Kelly beamed at the oversized check, surrounded by heartfelt smiles and warm applause.
The celebration continued with a special lunch provided by Carrabba’s and Bloomin’ Brands. The room was filled with laughter and joy as staff, friends, and supporters gathered to share a meal and stories.
Thank you, Mr. Kelly, for your decades of dedication, heart, and commitment. You have left an unforgettable mark on the Urban League of Palm Beach County, and your legacy of kindness, hard work, and selflessness will continue to inspire us for generations to come.
