The Urban League of Palm Beach County will induct 15 students into the National Achievers Society on April 23.
The National Achievers Society was established with the purpose of encouraging students to excel both academically and culturally. The program focuses on encouraging, recognizing and reinforcing academic achievement among minority youth to counter pervasive and damaging public images of African-American youth in our society.
The grade point average of the inductees is 3.81.
During the virtual ceremony, the guest speaker will be Medjy Pierre-Louis.
Pierre-Louis is an educational consultant for the Global Partnership for Education and the Inter-American Development Bank in Haiti. She supports governments around the world to build stronger learning assessment and educational data systems. She is also a PhD student at the University of Colorado-Boulder School of Education in the Research and Evaluation Methodology Program.
