Staff at Urban League of Palm Beach County Comprehensive Housing Counseling program met with Lola White and was able to save her home and avoid foreclosure.
Ms. White came to the Urban League seeking assistance to avoid foreclosure. The borrower fell behind on her taxes and insurance in the total of $5000.
After assessing the client’s situation, Antoinette McGrath determined that the Palm Beach County Department of Housing and Economic Development would be the client’s best.
Antoinette McGrath worked with Ms. White and the County Planner for two months to achieve a successful outcome. The client was also assisted by Legal Aid based on a judgment that was filed against the borrower. The support services rendered by the ULPBC resulted in Ms. White receiving $9,800 in funds to pay her taxes and insurance. This funding covered all her delinquency fees and helped alleviate her burden, getting her back on track financially.
Ms. White was able to remain in her home and avoid foreclosure.
The client credits the Urban League and the PBC Department of Housing and Economic Development, for assisting her with saving her home.
