Thank You For Attending Our Youth Empowerment Luncheon
Note: a message from Patrick Franklin, president and CEO of Urban League of Palm Beach County.
We are grateful to everyone who attended and sponsored our Ninth Annual Youth Empowerment Luncheon on Friday, Nov. 8 at the West Palm Beach Marriott Hotel.
More than 350 people filled the ballroom to hear inspiring messages from our NULITES (National Urban League Incentives To Excel & Succeed) and our NAS (National Achievers Society) youth participants as well as community partners and keynote speaker U.S. Congressman Alcee Lamar Hastings.
The luncheon’s theme — Transforming Lives through Technology — was delivered by several participants, who talked about the importance of technology and how through their aspiring STEM-related careers and technology will impact their daily lives and the future of education, jobs and the economy.
The event demonstrated that our youth are truly an inspiration to us all. They are the primary reason we, at the Urban League of Palm Beach County, work so hard to make a deep impact in the lives of Palm Beach County residents we help every day.
Thank you again to all of our community partners, invited guests, students, staff and volunteers who supported the luncheon. We are particularly grateful to our generous community partners (listed below) including our title sponsor: Florida Power & Light (FPL).
Because of you, the event was a successful fundraiser for our youth and educational programs that empower hundreds of individuals and families reach their full potential and enhance their quality of life.
