PBC Administrator Reacts to Protests and Killing of George Floyd

Palm Beach County Administrator Verdenia Baker recently sent the county’s 6,000 employees a heartfelt letter that draws from her experience growing up on the Treasure Coast and working for the county for the past three decades.

She watched images of protests and riots and felt the pain and anger experienced by so many others.

Here’s what Administrator Baker wrote:

“While Minneapolis is thousands of miles away from Palm Beach County, the murder of George Floyd has us wondering what is happening to humanity and acceptance. It leaves us in disbelief that once again a life has been cut short while the world witnessed this deplorable indifference to a man’s plea for life that resulted in a senseless murder.
