Message from Patrick Franklin, our president and CEO, about our recent 18th Annual Thanksgiving Food Drive.
Last month, the Urban League of Palm Beach County and our many community partners and volunteers worked together to ensure that those less fortunate in Palm Beach County were able to experience a blissful Thanksgiving holiday with 3-4 days of turkey trimmings as part of our annual food drive.
In the days leading up to Thanksgiving, dozens of our funders, board members, staff, and other friends and supporters raised funds to purchase turkeys and collect food items. Then, on the morning of Nov. 23, they showed up to package food boxes and hand them out to close to 800 families who could not afford a traditional Thanksgiving meal with their loved ones.
Seeing all those volunteers was a wonderful sight as they delivered holiday joy to the families.
The Urban League of Palm Beach County is grateful to everyone who helped make the food drive so meaningful and special for all those in need this holiday season.
